For the first time, the Victorian State Government budget data has been released in real-time.

The 2015-2016 State Budget data was made available in reusable formats at the same time as the Victorian Treasurer handed down the State Budget.   This is the first time the complete collection of Budget papers has been released in reusable formats on budget day.

The Budget data provides projections of Government revenue and expenditure for the 2105-2016 financial year, and outlines the government services to be delivered.

The data is labelled State Budget 2015 16 and is available on the data.vic.gov.au and the Department of Treasury and Finance website.

The data is available in CSV and XLSX formats, and has been licenced under Creative Commons 3.0 Australia.

The Victorian Government has embraced Open Data, releasing its first Open Data Policy in 2012.  As at May 2015, there were 3799 data sets, 556 API’s and 4037 data files accessible on www.data.vic.gov.au. Users are able to Suggest a Dataset if unable to find required data within currently available datasets.
