The worlds Top 7 intelligent communities in 2015, has been announced, and includes communities from the US, from Australia, Canada, Taiwan and Brazil.
Since 1999, the Intelligent Community Forum identifies the Intelligent Community of the Year, based on five intelligent community indicators.
“Intelligent Communities are cities and regions that use information and communications technologies (ICT) to build prosperous economies, solve social problems and enrich their cultures in the 21st Century” said ICF co-founder Louis Zacharilla.
“Intelligent Communities turn to technology not just to save money or make things work better: they also create high-quality employment, increase citizen participation and make themselves great places to live, work, start a business and prosper across generations”.

- Columbus, Ohio, USA
- Ipswich, Queensland, Australia
- Mitchell, South Dakota, USA
- New Taipei City, Taiwan
- Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- Surrey, British Columbia, Canada
The overall winner of 2015 Intelligent Community of the Year will be announced in June 2015 in Torronto.
