Victorian shared services provider Cenitex has announced the launch of a secure cloud technology platform providing up to Protected level controls for Victorian Government applications and data.
VicCloud Protect is the first of its kind for Victorian Government and offers secure cloud hosting controls at a level that complies with the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD), the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) guidelines, and the Victorian Protective Data Security Framework (VPDSF) controls for up to “Protected” level platform configuration.
VicCloud Protect is a new service designed to support the Victorian Government Cyber Security Strategy vision for secure and resilient government information, services, and infrastructure.
VicCloud Protect enables the Victorian Government’s digital transition through enhanced cloud security. With ever increasing cyber security threats, improving the capability for government to securely access data and information as needed from any location and provide digital solutions for citizens is critical.
VicCloud Protect was developed in collaboration with Microsoft and gold partner oobe and is hosted within the Azure platform.
In order to allow customers to take advantage of the full potential of the Azure cloud, oobe’s ‘Perimeta for Azure’ solution builds on Microsoft’s certification, employing a robust virtual data centre architecture that is accompanied by controls, policies, logging, monitoring and reporting requirements to achieve a Protected environment.
oobe CEO, Stuart Kilduff said, “We’re excited to see oobe’s ‘Perimeta for Azure’ underpin VicCloud Protect. This, together with our existing federal government customers, is another significant vote of confidence in the solution. We’ve seen a spike in the uptake of cloud services across both federal and state government since Microsoft received Protected-level status for Azure in Australia, and Cenitex is now leading the way, helping the Victorian Government tap into Microsoft’s hyperscale cloud whilst enhancing their security posture.”
