Australia’s New digital transformation strategy

The Digital Transformation Agency has released Australia’s inaugural Digital Transformation Strategy, promising that all government service will be available through digital channels by 2025.

Minister for Human Services and Digital Transformation Michael Keenan unveiled the government-wide strategy on 21 November 2108 at the National Press Club.

“This Strategy sets out a bold vision for Australia to remain in the top 3 digital governments in the world by 2025”.

“”The Strategy will provide a clear direction for our work on data and digital transformation, with the aim to have all government services available digitally in the next 7 years”, Minister Keenan said.

” A digital future will also enable us to make better use of data, in a way that will generate huge economic and social benefits. The Australian Government holds vast amounts of information collected from individuals and businesses, all generated by different government agencies”.

The strategy sets out 3 priorities that put people and businesses at the centre of everything government does:

  • Government that’s easier to deal with
  • Government that’s informed by its citizens
  • Government that’s fit for the digital age
