Amsterdam – Smart City Initiatives

Amsterdam Smart City is a partnership between public agencies, businesses, research institutions and the people of Amsterdam.

Established in 2009, Amsterdam Smart City has over 100 partners, who are helping delivering 89 innovative projects.

Amsterdam Smart City strategy focuses on five key areas: smart mobility, smart living and the development of smart areas, smart society and a smart economy.

In three years, Amsterdam Smart City initiative has transformed the Amsterdam metropolitan area, introducing:

• Smart lighting systems
• Dynamic traffic management systems
• Fast internet
• Energy management
